5-Day Great Migration Safari – Tarangire, Serengeti & Ngorongoro

5-Day Great Migration Safari – Tarangire, Serengeti & Ngorongoro

5 Day Safari Overview

Experience an unforgettable 5-day safari starting and ending in Moshi or Arusha, designed to showcase the highlights of Tanzania’s Northern Safari Circuit while maximizing your chances of witnessing the world-famous Great Wildebeest Migration in the Serengeti.
This journey takes you through Tarangire National Park, known for giant elephant herds and ancient baobab trees; into the legendary Serengeti National Park, where vast plains host abundant wildlife, predators, and seasonal migration spectacles; and finally to the breathtaking Ngorongoro Crater, one of Africa’s best wildlife destinations and an excellent place to spot the Big Five.
A special feature of this itinerary is the extended stay in Serengeti National Park, allowing more time to track wildlife and, depending on the season, follow the movement of the Great Migration.

Best Time for the Great Migration

This itinerary can operate year-round, but it is especially well suited during migration periods:
December to March – Southern Serengeti & Ndutu calving season (thousands of wildebeest calves and predator action)
April to June – Central and Western Serengeti (migration movement and rutting season)
July to October – Northern Serengeti / Mara River crossing season (dramatic river crossings)
November – Herds begin moving south again through Central Serengeti
June to October and December to March are especially popular for migration-focused safaris.
This safari can be operated as Camping, Mid-Range, or Luxury Safari, with Mid-Range and Luxury being particularly ideal for a migration safari experience.
